Jil Sander White Cotton Oversized Coat Shirt SS 2013

Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2013. An essential piece from the collection that marked Jil Sander's return to the creative direction of the fashion house, after Raf Simons' departure.

Halfway between an oversized shirt, a light coat, and a shirt dress, this model is made entirely of Made in Italy white cotton.

The construction is typical of Jil Sander's minimalism: ample volumes, clean lines, essential lapels, and very few decorative elements. The sleeves are wide and shortened, while the large patch pockets at the bottom accentuate the garment's almost architectural appearance.

White and cotton constructions were central elements of the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, presented in Milan in September 2012. It was the first women's collection designed by Jil Sander after her return to the fashion house, eight years after her previous experience.

A particularly representative piece of that phase of the brand: essential, contemporary, and still extremely current.
